The story
Our friends had been planning on making this happen for a while. Alex was pretty excited about this great girl he’d heard about, but for some reason, his friends never actually made the connection. Turns out, Kasie wanted nothing to do with the runner boy who her friends assured her was actually great.
That was until the fateful weekend at the alpaca farm—thanks for the birthday weekend, Sam. There were glances shared that first night, but it really got started when Kasie’s dog Laney dropped a stick in front of Alex the next morning.
After an hour of fetch, Kasie saw a stick flying through the air out the window, and it was, as they say, off to the races.
Since then, they’ve spent time in Colorado (one hell of a second date), Copenhagen, Wyoming, Washington, Baja, Chicago, Florida, Texas, and of course, Ojai.
Alex started getting allergy shots. Kasie let go of a cat. We’ve adopted a dog. Okay, two dogs. We’ve moved back to the place where our relationship truly blossomed. And we’ve supported each other every step of the way, whether Alex is making Kasie dinner after a long day, or Kasie is making a sign for one of Alex’s races.
We’ve been incredibly lucky to share so many of these experiences together, and we see it as just the start of our great adventure.
